Abstract

This paper explores the intricate relationship between economic diplomacy and foreign direct investment (FDI) in the context of Nigeria, a nation striving for sustainable economic development. With globalization shaping the contemporary international economic landscape, nations are increasingly recognizing the pivotal role of economic diplomacy in attracting FDI, fostering economic growth, and enhancing global competitiveness. Nigeria, as Africa's most populous nation and an emerging economic powerhouse, provides a compelling case study for examining the dynamics of economic diplomacy and its impact on FDI inflows. Furthermore, the research investigates the role of diplomatic missions, international partnerships, and bilateral relations in facilitating a conducive environment for foreign investors. The findings of this study contribute to the existing body of knowledge on economic diplomacy and FDI, offering valuable insights for policymakers, scholars, and business leaders.
